The quest for emergence and economic growth is leading many countries, including Cameroon, to focus on large-scale investments in various natural resource sectors, often involving the acquisition of large areas of land in the agribusiness sector.

Unfortunately, these often «ill-conceived» investments raise concerns about the respect of local communities' land rights, which are often not adequately recognized and protected. Often, communities are negatively impacted by expropriations, as they displace families from their homes, farmers from their fields, and disrupt live-hoods.
