The international business fair "Promote 2019" was held from 16 to 24 February 2019 at the Yaoundé Conference Centre. In the context of this biennial meeting, the European Union delegation allocated a space to LandCam to discuss the "expropriation and compensation system in Cameroon" on 18 February.

The meeting was a follow-up to the workshop on sharing experiences among private sector operators during the Land Tenure Week, held at the Yaoundé Conference Centre from 21 to 26 January 2019. The session aimed to deepen the discussions initiated on the challenges of dialogues between companies and communities around their investments, for a better local land management. Among the recommendations made, investors suggested that the following be clearly included in the legislation: the compensation of communities before the company starts its activities; and the drafting of land use plans to avoid territorial overlapping and clearly define the communities' spaces.
