Awareness-raising workshop for journalists
On 15 December 2017, a workshop was organized in Yaoundé at the RELUFA offices to raise awareness among journalists on the LandCam project as well as the Green Livelihoods Alliance (GLA). The workshop brought together journalists from print, online and radio media, with the aim of informing them about issues related to land and resource governance issues, through presentations by different members of CED and RELUFA as well as group discussions. The idea behind this workshop was to improve media coverage of land and resource management issues, as part of the land law reform undertaken by the Cameroonian government. A series of recommendations were made, including the establishment of platforms to facilitate the sharing of data and information between journalists and other actors, the reinforcement of communication during parliamentary sessions, and the organisation of press visits to enable journalists to visit the places where LandCam and GLA projects are taking place.
